Nina and Jasper Dream of Paris

Nina sighs as she sits on the bench overlooking the Eiffel Tower, her loyal French bulldog Jasper curled up happily at her feet.

She’d finally saved up enough from her café job to visit Paris, the city she’d always dreamed of seeing ever since she was a little girl. But now that she was here, sitting in front of that iconic landmark, she felt empty rather than the exhilaration she expected.

She loved the bubbly bustle of the city, the buttery croissants, seeing the Mona Lisa in person. But wandering the streets alone with Jasper, she realized that what was missing was someone to share it with – no boyfriend, no friends, no family.

Just her and her canine companion. She longed to rest her head on someone’s shoulder, walk hand-in-hand at night along the Seine.

As the sun set and the Eiffel Tower began to glimmer,

Jasper perked up and snuggled closer to Nina.

“At least I’ll always have you by my side,” she whispered and hugged him tight. She may still feel lonely from time to time, but Jasper’s faithful, squishy face gazing lovingly up at her was comfort enough for now.

Starting tomorrow, she vowed to visit cafés and parks more often to make some Parisian friends. But for tonight, all she needed was her fluffy French bulldog right there next to her on the bench.
